Simon was a key part of the best side in Horsham Rugby Club's history in the early 1990's which won the Sussex Cup twice and played the highest level of league rugby the club has yet achieved.
He was an exceptional local sportsman having also played football for Horsham's 1st team and cricket for Roffey's 1st team.
For those who don't know, his brother Richard (better known as Wes) coaches Horsham's 1st XV, his son Will is the regular 1st XV full back, and his other son Sam was a feature in the back line before a career ending shoulder injury. Simon also helped to coach his son's mini and junior rugby sides.
After leaving Horsham, Simon embarked on a new chapter in his life living in London with his wife Yvette, and carried on teaching P.E.
There will be a service to celebrate Simon's life which will be held at St. Mark's Church, North Heath Lane, Holbrook, Horsham RH12 5PJ at 1.30pm on Wednesday 22 February, and refreshments will be served afterwards at Horsham Rugby Club. Everyone is welcome.
