Horsham Ladies travelled to Brighton on Sunday to play Sussex Police women’s team. With the 3 points already awarded to Horsham, today was a great game to put the hard work at training into action and the ladies did not disappoint! Showing great sportsmanship, Horsham loaned Sussex police 4 players to enable today's game to go ahead.
Sussex police started very quick and looked like the sharper team scoring an early try to take the lead. Horsham soon replied and settled into the game replying with two quick tries to take the lead.
Half time 5-15
The second half Horsham started brightly working really well as a team and supporting each other through each phase. It wasn't long until Horsham scored again and then another, this time, Kate Leyshon converting the try. It was one way traffic and it wasn't long before Horsham put the game beyond reach which a superb individual try from Wendy Shepherd and then the pace of Jade Stocker just ripping the home team apart. Both tries were converted nicely by Kate. Sussex police did reply with two late tries as Horsham took their foot off the pedal but it was too late. Plenty of positives to take from today's game, the hard work is paying off.
